Insurance Information

Insurance and billing can be a challenging and overwhelming topic. We would like to minimize any problems you may experience regarding payment from your insurance company for your services. Please never hesitate to ask if you have any questions.

Homer Eyecare accepts most major medical insurances such as but not limited to:

  • BlueCrossBlue Shield (except BCBS with R-Prefix)
  • Aetna
  • Cigna
  • EBMS
  • Relay/Rehn
  • Meritain
  • Moda
  • Tricare
  • UMR
  • Medicaid
  • Medicare
  • VSP
  • etc.

Homer Eyecare does not accept the following insurances:

  • Eyemed
  • Blue View Vision
  • Davis Vision
  • Spectera (United Healthcare vision)
  • VA- we are not venderized
  • Federal BCBS with R-Prefix
  • Liberty Health Share
  • Tricare for Life

If you have an insurance listed above:
It is your responsibility as the patient to know the details of your own insurance policy. For questions regarding your specific policy please call the toll free number listed on the back of your insurance card.

The Homer Eyecare patient coordinator will collect any applicable co-payments and charges for non-covered services from you at the time of service. Then we will submit a claim for the services to your insurance company and we expect to be reimbursed by your insurance company. Please, always be aware that payment from your insurance company cannot be guaranteed, and benefits are generally not determined until your claim is fully processed. You are financially responsible for any claims your insurance company denies.

If you have an insurance not listed above:
If you have insurance benefits provided by a company not listed above, please contact our billing coordinator at 907-235-7745 option 2. She will be more than happy to provide you with any information you may need.

If services are not billed to insurance:
All patients will receive a 20% prompt pay discount on items and services billable to insurance if paid out of pocket in full on the day of service.
